What can video do for my business or organization?

Studies show that you have only 20 seconds to capture someoneís attention before you lose it forever. Most people these days would rather watch a video than read, and so you have a much better chance of grabbing and keeping a prospective clientís attention and keeping them focused through dazzling video than through long-winded text, while at the same time conveying more information than you could through the written word.

How much does a video cost?

The cost of a video project can be anywhere from an amount in the double figures to as much as seven figures and beyond. Yes, this answer sounds ambiguous, but the cost of a video actually depends on what one is trying to achieve or the kind of video one is producing. Rather than guessing or thinking that you can't afford to make your video, just give us a call or e-mail us with your idea and we can give you a free estimate.

What factors increase the cost of a video?

The cost of a video depends on the purpose of your final video and the size of the project. For example, let's say you are a big company introducing a new product to the market. You need your product to shine; it must look even better on video than in reality. You want the product's signature red color to be the exact shade of red on video, just like you designed it. To achieve these goals, you will need professional cameras that can capture stunning images without compromise. Professional cameras cost a lot of money. Add the price tag of the crew plus other production materials, and you may find your video budget increasing.

On the other hand, let's say you just want a simple video for YouTube. You may be tempted to use your cell phone or web cam to capture the action yourself and then upload it. But, take a closer look at the quality of all those humorous animal videos on the Web. Forget about the funny video factors; is the video quality good enough to represent your brand or personal identity? At Brilliant Image Productions, we use only high quality equipment and a professional crew to make sure that your identity remains as you intended it to be in the first place, without costing you a bundle.

How do I choose a video production company?

Do some research, ask for referrals and when you have narrowed down your search, interview the companies on your short list. Depending on your subject matter, consider choosing a production company with experience in creating the kind of production you want, or at least one that understands your vision and what you want to achieve. If they haven't done a project quite like yours before, it may be that they haven't had the opportunity to do it, not that they don't know how, and understanding your vision may be an indication of how well you and the company will work together as a team. Ask them what kind of equipment they have, and ask to see a portfolio of videos they have done in the past, even videos that are not related to what you want done. When you evaluate the company's portfolio, pay particular attention to lighting, frame composition, camera movement, sound quality, etc. If you like what you see, ask the company for a free estimate. Remember, in order to give you a realistic estimate, they will have to get as much specific information from you as possible about what you want to do.

Since you are reading this question, chances are that you are looking for a video production company. Give us a call right now or e-mail us for more information.

OK, we're ready to go! What's the first step?

Since we gave you an estimate, we know what the final product is going be. So, the first step is to get your idea into a script. Once the script is done, proper planning MUST take place. The plan must include who is being interviewed and when, where the shoot will take place, the time of the shoot, etc. We can't stress proper planning enough. If you are paying a crew by the hour, everything needs to be ready to go on time, and a plan will help achieve this objective, saving both you and the crew a headache at the end of the day.

The major stages of production are:

  • Pre-production: Concept development, script writing, casting, etc.
  • Production: Actual shooting of the video.
  • Post-production: Video editing, color correction, sound mixing, and other fine tuning.
  • Distribution: Dissemination of final masterpiece to various mediums of your choice.

How many changes can I ask for?

Most production companies will allow a certain number of changes without additional charges, if the revisions are within reason. The decision as to whether a change request is reasonable will depend on your understanding of the project and the partnership you have with your crew. Brilliant Image Productions considers every project as a unique entity and we will always try to accommodate as many reasonable changes as possible after your approval. But at some point, your project must come to an end!

How long will the project take?

Production equipment technology has developed tremendously. Things that used to take months now take weeks or less. After you give us a rough idea of your project, we will provide you with an estimated timeline. Keep in mind that every project is different and demands unique attention to specific aspects of production. The earlier you book with us, the better we can accommodate your timeline. If you leave it until the last minute to book us, you may be disappointed. By booking early, you avoid a rush to completion and allow us time to apply our creativity to your project.

What kind of equipment do you have?

We work with professional Video cameras both 4K and 3CCD (charged-coupled devices), also known as 3-chip video cameras. Depending of the project, we can shoot cinema DNG raw footage. With recent developments in video technology, CMOS (complementary metal oxide semiconductor) has been reintroduced to the market, but both technologies are current. Learn more about CCD and CMOS here.

We can work in HD or SD depending on your needs, although we recommend that you work with HD as this is minimun expected standard. Without giving away our trade secrets, we can tell you that we use a cutting-edge editing suite to add that final glow special for your production.

We capture sound with high quality microphones that can be either wireless or wired depending on the situation. Call or e-mail us for more information.

Your company sounds too big to do my wedding video...are you?

We will never forget where we came from, so yes, we will be there for your big day your daughter or son's big day and we won't disappoint or cause you any stress! Just let us know the date, preferably in advance. It's all we ask! Oh, plus word of mouth remains our big marketing tool, so please pass the word around to your friends and family that we do wedding videos.

What forms of payment do you accept?

We accept personal checks as well as corporate checks. If your check bounces, to be fair we will forward the bank fees back to you. We also accept credit cards as well as cash for invoices below $1,000.00.

I already have the video. Can you just do the editing?

Yes, we can edit your video, though we cannot guarantee the image quality if the video was not shot by us. We will try to enhance poorly-shot footage but in most cases, it will be as is. However, don't be discouraged from giving us your footage. We have received stunning video footage from some of our clients.
